Wow! What amazing weather we had today–crisp, cool, with a sky worthy of being called a “Midwest Sky”. The blues were bright, the white of the billowing clouds were stunning. I could see so much of the sky today. That is always settling to my mind.
When I am outside, my eyes instantly are drawn to the sky, because it is in the sky that I work on my imaginary board, arranging and categorizing my thoughts to make sense out of them.
But I found something fascinating today:
Psalm 36:5 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Wow. So when I am down here examining my soul and my mind, underneath the amazing sky in which I have placed my imaginary white board, God is there. His steadfast Love extends to the heavens. His faithfulness to the clouds.
What does this mean to me? That God not only sees and knows, but that he sees and knows what is on my pitiful imaginary whiteboard. He understands when it is in such disarray that I don’t now how to fix it, God sees and knows, his love extends to the heavens and his faithfulness to the clouds. And his love and faithfulness reaches my board, the summation of my life, and when I am not being the stubborn brat that I can be, but instead I beg him or mercy, He steps in and rearranges my board, and most importantly, my thoughts.
Psalm 71:19 Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens.
You who have done great things, O God, who is like you?
God, your righteousness reaches the high heavens. Your righteousness reaches farther than I can even possibly see.
You, who have done great things, O God, who is like you? Who is like you, my God?
